We received approval from our members to become an incorporated association.
Until now, Mullum SEED (Mullumbimby Sustainability Education & Enterprise Development) has been the lease holder of the land, paid our rent, insurance, water rates and managed our income. Mullum SEED require Shara to take on the lease of the land with Council and are supporting us to prepare for this. We need to be incorporated to enter a lease agreement with Council. Incorporation will also enable Shara to manage income, bills, apply directly for funding and make decisions without Mullum SEED approval. We will however remain a member of Mullum SEED.
Thanks to our members approval we are now incorporated and will open our bank account this week to begin taking new memberships. Our fee structure will be $24 per year for an individual, or $36 for a family. We are keeping fees as low as possible as we want lots of the community to become members and get involved, each to to their own capacity.
